Albin, The CEO of Zalster, have had his course traced out for him since he was a kid. The combination of advertising and web opened up his career path. “When I was a kid I saw my father design a simple HTML-page for his friend. When I got my hands on his “HTML for dummies”-book I knew this was something I wanted to do.” Albin explained. “I also remember waiting for the mail man to look through all the advertisement, I even remember putting up a sign on the slot which said “Advertisement? Yes please” as an opposite of our neighbours “No advertisement please”-signs. After inspecting the ads, I designed my own ads for miscellaneous imaginary businesses and put my work up for display on the fridge.”
What can you tell us about your job at Zalster?
“I think it’s a privilege to work with all these fantastic people – I’m so incredibly happy with the team we’ve put together!”
As a CEO Albin needs to do a bit of everything, most of the times all those small things which don’t fit into anyone else’s work description. “My duties varies a lot (and I love it)! I do everything from accounting and miscellaneous paper work to brainstorming about product features”. “I love when I get the opportunity to meet our wonderful customers. Zalster exist because of them, and for them, we must never forget that.”
What are your hobbies?
For those who know Albin this is a quite obvious question. Most of Albins (very limited) spare time is spent writing music under his pseudonym “Hamilton”.
“Except for writing music I enjoy playing board games, watching documentaries, listening to history podcasts and spending time on Quora. I also enjoy watching the TV-series Silicon Valley and Family Guy (yes, you may call me a geek)” he says.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Albin is inspired by people who dares to think big, and still manages to be humble. “I admire the humbleness among Max Martin, Håkan Hellström (a Swedish artist) and Keanu Reeves. I admire Fredrik Eklund, Elon Musk and (sorry for the cliché…) Steve Jobs for their way of thinking big.”
Albin is also inspired by the book “Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz. “The book changed my life. It made me think about life in another way which made me a happier person! Partly by becoming better in seeing the opportunities in things, rather than the problems.”
What would you work with if you had to change career?
“I know it’s still in the tech-niche, but probably something related to virtual reality. Or games. Or both at the same time (oh, what a dream!). My current favorite VR game is “Herobound” for Oculus Gear VR.”
Tell us something we don’t know about you!
Albin is a huge fan of Ivar Kreuger, the Swedish business man. “Ivar run a company named “Kreuger & Toll AB” with his colleague Paul Toll (who actually is my ancestor) in the beginning of the 20th century. What I love about Kreuger’s characteristics was the mind-set he had. Anything was possible and he really put money where his mouth were! Without Kreguer, the stock market would look really different today. Did you know he’s the reason to why we today have A, B, C shares and warrants? If you want to learn more about this fantastic man, I can recommend the book “The Match King” by Frank Partnoy.”, he said with passion.
